Rachel brings more than 25 years of experience working face-to-face with clients facing alcohol and drug challenges. Her extensive background includes supporting both individuals on their recovery journey and their families. She has worked as a clinical supervisor for the past ten years, bringing depth and understanding to her supervisory role.

Supervision Approach

Rachel views supervision as an honour, creating a space where people can reflect on all aspects of their work while learning and growing. She believes in providing a supportive environment that serves as a sounding board for ideas and thoughts, while also celebrating achievements. Through her supervision, Rachel encourages the development of practical and realistic self-care practices, integrating these discussions into regular sessions.

Skills and Experience

Rachel's diverse career path began with training as a youth worker, followed by three years as a paramedic. Since relocating to New Zealand, she has worked across various addiction and mental health roles, including positions in residential services, community-based services, team leadership, and senior management. Her academic qualifications include a post-graduate certificate in alcohol and other drug studies from Auckland University and a Level 6 qualification in mental health and addiction supervision. These varied experiences have shaped her approach and fueled her passion for workplace wellness.
