Overview
Arwen (Ngāti Māhanga) is a Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist, registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board. She holds a BA(Hons) and a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from the University of Auckland, and is a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists and the New Zealand Special Interest Group in Neuropsychology.
Arwen works in clinical research and private practice, providing clinical and professional supervision. She has training in supervision, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and cultural models of mental health.
Supervision Approach
Arwen aims to build a reflective and collaborative space where supervisees are supported to consider different perspectives, trial new ideas and approaches, and engage in thoughtful planning. Her approach helps supervisees work through difficulties, progress towards goals, and explore new ways of doing things in their work. Her supervision practice draws on reflective, strengths-based, cultural, and developmental models.
Skills and Experience
Arwen has worked across clinical and academic settings, including public healthcare, disability support services, and private practice. Her clinical work has largely been in the field of neuropsychological assessment and neurorehabilitation, across neurology, community rehabilitation, disability, and concussion services.
