Adina Smith (Psychologist)

Overview

Adina is a registered psychologist with a doctorate in clinical psychology. She has worked across government organisations, including forensic services, as well as in practice management roles supporting psychologists and rehabilitative programme staff. In the United States, Adina also worked as a professor, Director of a mental health clinic, and in private practice.

Adina is committed to building respectful relationships, working collaboratively, and creating an environment that supports cultural safety. She honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori health frameworks.

Supervision Approach

Adina has extensive experience supervising psychologists and other professionals using strength-based and developmental approaches. She has developed and conducted numerous trainings for psychologists and mental health professionals.

Skills and Experience

Adina has trained extensively in cognitive behavioural, attachment, interpersonal, client-centred, family systems, and trauma-focused therapies. Her background spans clinical, academic, forensic, and practice management settings in both the United States and Aotearoa New Zealand.
