Juciele Stander (Counsellor)

Overview

Juciele is a counsellor and supervisor with a background as an AOD/Addictions Practitioner. Her work is grounded in aroha and manaaki, with a strong focus on creating safe, non-judgemental spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported to make meaningful change.

Supervision Approach

Juciele provides clinical supervision and awhi that is respectful, strengths-based, and culturally responsive. She takes a holistic approach that recognises the interconnectedness of mental health, whānau, culture, and lived experience. Her supervision supports people to build accountability, reflect on their practice, and grow in ways that are practical and grounded.

Skills and Experience

Juciele has worked across NZ prisons, residential treatment facilities, Māori mental health and addiction services, and community AOD services. Her practice is informed by extensive frontline experience and a deep understanding of the complexities people face at different stages of their recovery journey. She provides one-to-one and group counselling alongside her supervision work.
